Russia is a States ruled by the actual president, Vladimir Putin, successor of Boris Yeltsin. The actual president was elected in 2000. He claims himself as a strong leader, who brought Russia out of the economic crisis in the 1990’s. He defends Russia’s national interests specially against the hostilities of the western. He has been a president for a total of 14 years, (2000-2004)(2004-2008)(2012-2018) stepping down for 4 years to exercise as a prime minister.

The actual president has implemented domestic policies like the dismissal of the heads of the Federal Subjects of Russia, and appointed new ones in 2000. He also changed the anthem to the pre 1991 Soviet Anthem. In 2002, He established that it was forbidden to vote in referendums, within the last year of a term of the president or State Duma and disallowed mass media to comment on election campaign.

On his second term, he executed other policies like the replacement of the system of election of the heads of the Federal subject. The new system consisted in the proposal of candidates by the president and the  legislative power bodies of the federal subjects could approved or disapproved this candidates.He also created norms that regulates the parliamentary investigation and prohibits parliamentary investigation of the activities of the President, court and investigative authorities if they comply to the processual law.
